~The Saek:
The very term 'Saek' derives from the word 'Forsaken'. They were once slaves of Demonkind who freed themselves and now wander the wastes between the demonic cities within breach. They are said to be the most passionate lovers and fighters in the known world, as for them, each day they live is a blessing.
The Saek have done many things that they aren't proud of, but even pride is considered a luxury. All that matters is family. Outsiders lead to enslavement and betrayal. The only people who you can trust are your blood. A Saek caravan is typically made up of one or more families who have come together to improve their odds of survival. As some Saek are more recently freed than others, and some aren't even human (effendal being the most common example) what makes one Saek isn't their Ancestry but the common trials that they all have had to endure.
The Saek must constantly stay on the move. If they linger anywhere too long, they risk being discovered. Fighting is the last option for one of the Saek. They fight if they have no other choice, because they are almost always outmatched, and if someone is even badly wounded, it is essentially a death sentence. If there are no healers (and scrolls are rare,)the wounded are mercifully killed, and left behind. This sacrifice is done willingly as the family member would not want to endanger the rest of their kin.
Its rare for other nations to venture to Breach. Breach is a hostile place, and while the Dacians and imperials are on better terms with some of the demonic factions in power, even those nations take pause before funding expeditions. Because the shores around breach have jagged rocks and sheer cliffs its a logistical nightmare to send troops to and from the cursed continent.
For the Saek, its even more difficult to leave, as they have virtually no means to construct a boat, let alone one thats sea worthy enough to survive the harsh conditions surrounding the Breach. Even if they could make a boat, they have little knowledge of the outside world and assume that its filled with similar terrors to what they already know and contend with.
This is not to say that its impossible to escape breath, but that it is highly difficult, and therefore very rare.
The most commonly followed religions in Breach are all demonic related. The populous of each city worships the greater demon which rules that region. Cultists sometimes occupy areas in the wastes, and every day, the Saek see and must survive awful hardships.
The Saek reject the views and religions of the demon worshipers around them. On the whole they don't know what to believe, and though they are very spiritual, the concept of religion is normally tied to these dark forces. (Of course as each tribe is family based, this can vary from tribe to tribe)
In the core of their heart, each Saek have both hate for their enemies, and love and devotion to their family. Its instilled on them that there is nothing more important than your family, and that only your family can be trusted. All outsiders will someday betray you.
Because of this, the Saek very rarely ever are even seen by outsiders, and they have learned to be completely self sufficient living off the wastes in an environment that few could survive, let alone thrive. (Of course thrive isnt the best way to describe the saek either.)
Saek do not even fully trust other tribes of the Saek, but they do frequently deal with one another, and in rare instances (normally when the tribe has no other choice) will they deal with outside factions. Sometimes this even means raiding a demonic caravan, or sneaking into a city and stealing from within.
They do whatever they need to, to make sure their clan will survive.
Due to harshness of their environment, the Saek were the first to create the technique called SykreZetKalill, which roughly translates to 'Wisdom Through Suffering.'
Its an unarmored form of dagger fighting, where you torture your body to such extremes that it becomes strong enough to block weapons. This school of combat is part philosophy where one views all suffering as a means to fortify your body, mind, and gain understanding.
