The Greater Consortium
Dace is known for its wealth, and while the city is ruled by the noble houses, the city’s gold is safeguarded by an organization known as "the Greater Consortium."
The Greater Consortium is a collective that oversees (and enforces) Dacian trade across the world. They help to mediate disputes between the noble houses, and are considered to be the closest thing to a neutral voice in Dacian politics. Since the Greater Consortium is made up of the heads of each of the noble houses’ trading companies, the Consortium still directly answers to the Houses, however members do not need to be nobles themselves. Since they control Dace’s treasury and decide where and how to invest that money, the Greater Consortium wields tremendous power and influence across the world. Many of Dace's nationally sponsored social events (such as tournaments or solstice festivals) are also planned by the Greater Consortium and are considered to be "Quite entertaining."
